Connecting ChatGPT to your brand guidelines

The ChatGPT MCP integration allows you to connect your Guidelines brand data directly to OpenAI's ChatGPT using the Model Context Protocol. This enables ChatGPT to access and work with your brand colors, fonts, typography styles, and guidelines in real-time.

To connect ChatGPT to your brand guidelines:

1. Access the integration in Guidelines

1. Navigate to your brand dashboard in Guidelines
2. Click on Integrations in the sidebar
3. Find ChatGPT in the AI Tools section
4. Click to open the integration setup guide

2. Configure the connector in ChatGPT

1. In ChatGPT, go to Workspace Settings → Connectors → My connectors

2. Click Create Connector

3. Fill in the connector details:

   • Name: Guidelines
   • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.guidelines.site/api/sse
   • Authentication: OAuth
   • Icon: Download and upload the Guidelines icon from the integration page
   • Description: Find and access details of your brand in Guidelines

4. Click Save to create the connector

5. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Guidelines account to authorize access

3. Start using your brand system

Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT questions about your brand and use your brand assets in AI-generated content. Try these example prompts:

• "What brands do I have access to?"
• "What are the primary colors for [your brand name]?"
• "Show me the typography styles for our brand"
• "Create a new landing page using our brand guidelines"
• "Generate CSS variables for our brand colors"
• "What fonts should I use for headings?"

Available tools and data

When connected, ChatGPT can access:

• Brand Colors: Primary, secondary, and extended color palettes with HEX, RGB, and HSL values
• Typography: Font families, sizes, weights, and line heights for headings and body text
• Brand Assets: Logos and other brand assets you've uploaded
• Guidelines Content: Any content you've added to your brand guidelines site

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues connecting:

1. Ensure you have a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan
2. Verify you're signed into Guidelines with an account that has access to the brand
3. Check that your Guidelines subscription is active
4. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
