Example Guides and Faster Search

August 26, 2026

Three larger additions this time, plus fixes to how the editor handles text and sections:

  • Example guides. New organizations now see example guide cards on the dashboard. Click one and you get your own editable copy of a complete guide — pages, brand, colors, type, and assets — so you can look through a finished set of guidelines, or start from one instead of a blank page. It's your copy: edit, publish, or delete it like any other guide.
  • Faster search, better results. Search on published guides now runs on the server instead of loading every page into the browser first. Results come back ranked by relevance, match words inside page content rather than titles alone, and show a highlighted snippet of where the match was found. Published guides load faster too, since a guide's full text is no longer embedded in every page.
  • A role for translators. A new Translator role for teams using translations. Translators can edit any locale you've added, but see default-locale pages and navigation as read-only — so source content can't be changed while a translation is being worked on. Available on Enterprise plans, and assigned like any other role when you invite someone.
  • Steadier collaborative editing. Editing a page at the same time as a colleague could cause a text block to revert to an older version, show a single stray character, or pick up text from another block. We tracked down what was causing it, fixed the main causes, and added a check that spots and repairs any remaining divergence between collaborators as it happens.
  • Safer typing and pasting. Typing while a whole section or a non-text block is selected now moves the cursor into it — a stray keystroke can no longer replace a section's contents. Pasting with the cursor inside a block no longer errors.
  • Various bugfixes and improvements. Plus a batch of smaller fixes and refinements across the editor, guides, and dashboard.
